Principal's Report

  • Year End Community Celebration Activities
    • purchased activities that can be used year after year
    • some of these activities could be used at recess
      • asking council for $2200, $500 from board grant
    • PEAC Regional Symposium
      • Tuesday, May 20th from 4:30-9:00 pm at the Sheraton Parkway North
    • School Council Annual Report
      • Janet to work on compiling the report for council
    • Upcoming Dates
      • EQAO: grades 3 and 6 to complete online the week of May 26-30 - captures learning up to grades 3 and 6
      • Crock-a-Doodle - grades 1-3 - grant received to fund field trip for students
      • FNMI Presentation on May 14th - Metis musician, Alyssa Delbaere-Sawchuk to share about Indigenous culture through music
      • Swan Lake - trip for grades 2, 4 and 7 students
      • Alexander Mackenzie Spring Showcase performance
  • Extra Curricular
    • Volleyball club
    • House Leagues - cooperative games for students
    • Ultimate Frisbee

    • Parents to complete Google Form to provide input in respect to class placement for the fall

Treasurer's Report

  • Pizza is doing well, however would we like to rethink Mr. Sub - perhaps consider sushi or other options for next year
  • Blinds and murals weren’t something that we could get to this year - budget allocated for the mural and blinds to be carried over until next school year
  • Refresh of the tarmac area - purchase two benches, backboard/rims for basketball nets, paint for the kindergarten pen, consider starting a fund for playground maintenance, look into an additional bike rack for the school if students express a need
  • $500 deposit for Fire It Up BBQ - year end BBQ
  • $1100 for start up - anything that is not used, allocate towards a playground fund in the fall
